Minister of Energy received the newly appointed Ambassador of Italy to Azerbaijan

Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of İtaly to the Republic of Azerbaijan Claudio Taffuri.

The minister congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic activities in Azerbaijan. Attention was drawn to high-level mutual visits. It was noted that the state visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Italy was a historic visit for the further development of relations between the two countries and gave a special impetus to deepening relations. The sides stressed the existing cooperation between the two countries in various fields and expressed confidence that these relations will further develop in the future. It was noted that partnership in the energy sector plays an important role in long-term cooperation. The implementation of the protocol of the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Italy was brought to the attention, and it was noted that there are many issues on the agenda, and despite the impact of the global pandemic, significant work has been done to resolve the issues.

The ambassador, in turn, thanked for the warm welcome and congratulations. The dynamic development of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries was highly appreciated by the ambassador and he noted that he would make efforts to further expand relations in the field of energy.

At the meeting, the current level and prospects of development of bilateral relations in the relevant field were discussed, and the sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
