Water Rate Change to IRUA

The following infographic shows the water rate change to IRUA on the cost of water they purchase from Newton Waterworks.

• At 1000 gallons, the water rate to IRUA is increasing $2.13.
• At 2000 gallons, the water rate to IRUA is increasing $4.26.
• At 5000 gallons, the water rate to IRUA is increasing $10.65.

The last water rate increase to IRUA was in 2019. The new rate to IRUA is based on a recent third-party engineering Cost of Service Study that determined the current cost for the City of Newton to product water for IRUA is $3.27 per 1,000 gallons.
