Christian Strain Joins CNAS Board of Advisors

Washington, August 4, 2021-The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) welcomes Christian Strain, Managing Director at the growth equity firm Summit Partners, to its Board of Advisors. In this capacity, he will contribute to the development and execution of the organization's intellectual agenda.

'I'm pleased to welcome Christian to the CNAS Board of Advisors,' said CNAS CEO Richard Fontaine. 'With his deep knowledge of the European business and political landscapes, Christian's perspectives will contribute significantly to the Center's growing portfolio of work on global economic and technology issues.'

Based in London and Paris, Mr. Strain leads Summit Partners' efforts in the business and financial services sector across Europe; and has led investments in the fiber-optic, insurance, e-commerce, data, and certification industries. Mr. Strain previously worked in the Paris office of global equity firm Apax Partners, where he was a member of the technology and telecommunications team.

Mr. Strain has served on the boards of multiple companies across Europe, including as a former Board Member and Treasurer of Invest Europe, the world's largest association of private capital providers. He was also the former chairman of Invest Europe's growth equity council and remains a member of the mid-market council. Mr. Strain holds a BA in History from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
