This week's NDHSAA Member School Alumni Spotlight shines on Connor McGovern, a 2011 graduate of Fargo Shanley High School. Below is a list of accomplishments in McGovern's prep, collegiate, and pro careers.

CONNOR MCGOVERN - PREP ATHLETIC STANDOUT AT FARGO SHANLEY HIGH SCHOOL

GRADUATION YEAR: 2011

HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC CAREER

FOOTBALL

  • Was a member of Fargo Shanley's NDHSAA Division AA football state championships in 2009 and 2010.

  • Was a North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) Division AA All-State selection in 2010 (offensive line) and 2009 (defensive line).

  • Named North Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year in football his senior season (2010).

  • Totaled 89 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles his senior year

  • Totaled 49 tackles and three sacks his junior season.

  • McGovern made his verbal commitment to play collegiate football at the University of Missouri on August 13, 2010.

Also lettered in wrestling during High School.

COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL CAREER

  • Played at Missouri from 2012-2015 (Redshirted in 2011).

  • Played in 48 games while at Missouri

  • Started in the final 40 games he played during his collegiate football career with the Tigers.

  • Start in all 12 games his senior year at left tackle position

  • First collegiate start occurred during the 2013 season with the Tigers.

  • Was invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine after his collegiate football career concluded.

PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL CAREER

  • Was drafted in the fifth round (144th overall) by the Denver Broncos at the 2016 NFL Draft held at Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.

  • Made his first NFL career start on December 3, 2017 starting at right guard for the Broncos in a game against the Miami Dolphins played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

  • Has played in 87 games and started in 76 games while playing in the NFL.

  • Signed a three-year free agent contract with the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) on April 2, 2022.
