Airport Road at 474 -Expected Completion October 2025

Plan Ahead: Traffic Flow Changes and construction updates may change daily without notice.

Important Information to Know:

  • The Illinois Department of Transportation announced construction on Airport Road at Interstate 474 (exit 5) near Bartonville, which began on March 11.
  • The work is to prepare for the future replacement of the Airport Road Ramps at I-474 to One Lane.
  • I-474 also will be reduced to one lane in each direction to facilitate tree removal.
  • Motorists should expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
  • Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in work zones, obey the posted speed limits.

Maxwell Road Closure - Expected Completion November 2024

Plan Ahead: Detour will be needed!

Important Information to Know:

  • The Peoria County Highway Department will close a section of Maxwell Road for bridge rehabilitation and new pavement construction, which began April 1.
  • The closure is between IL Rte 116 (Plank Road) and Fauber Road in Bellevue.
  • The Detour includes Dirksen Parkway, South Airport Road, Smithville Road and South Cameron Lane, due to the IDOT's rehabilitation and construction of Airport Road and Interstate 474 bridge.
