Vienna, concert of the Fontane di Roma Youth Orchestra

The Fontane di Roma Youth Orchestra made its debut in Vienna with a concert on the occasion of Made in Italy Day, promoted by the Italian Embassy in Vienna,the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Trade Agency to celebrate Italian excellence in honour of the genius Leonardo da Vinci.

Standing ovation by the 250 guests who attended the concert, organised in the Großer Festsaal at Vienna University, where the young conductor Luciano Siani conducted the orchestra in a selection of famous symphonic pieces by Italian composers such as Bellini, Morricone, Piovani, Ponchielli, Puccini, whilst also paying tribute to a famous Austrian composer such as Schonberg to mark the 150^th anniversary of his birth.

"The Italian Embassy in Vienna is delighted to organise this concert on 15 April, Made in Italy Day and the anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's birth, with great ambassadors of classical and contemporary Italian music such as Bellini, Puccini and Morricone paying a special tribute to Vienna as the world capital of classical music," said the Italian Ambassador in Vienna, Giovanni Pugliese. The musical heritage has always been one of the great expressions of Made in Italy excellence in the world, anchoring Italy to the European and world musical tradition. To celebrate Italian genius, for example, the orchestra has decided to perform Nicola Piovani's "Il canto dei neutrino" for the first time abroad.

After Dubai, the international tour of this orchestra, made up of 60 young musicians trained at Italian conservatories and academies, continues. In just a few years, they have made a name for themselves for their talent in several concerts in Italy and received appreciation from the most prestigious Italian authorities such as the President of the Italian Republic Mattarella, the First President of the Court of Cassation and the Academy Award-winning maestro Nicola Piovani.
