On April 26, the Head of the NA Armenia Faction Seyran Ohanyan and With Honor Faction Tigran Abrahamyan met with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos.

Welcoming the guest, the Armenian parliamentarians highlighted the RA-EU relations and the presence of the European Union in the region.

Seyran Ohanyan thanked the European Union, for showing continuous to Armenia especially in the difficult period. Tigran Abrahamyan highly assessed the efforts of the European Union in the establishment of the lasting peace and security in the region.

The deputies spoke about the importance of the depopulated Armenians from Nagorno Karabakh, their problems and the return of Armenian captives in prisons of Azerbaijan.

Touching upon the delimitation and demarcation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the opposition deputies presented their viewpoint on it, which, according to them, differs from the position of the ruling political force.

The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia emphasized the relations with the parliament. He spoke about the effective cooperation with Armenia, presented the support programmes being implemented by the EU.

Regarding the displaced population from Nagorno Karabakh, Vassilis Maragos noted: "We have tried to address their needs by providing humanitarian assistance. Until now the EU member states and the European institutions provided more than 60mln Euro support for those needs."

Speaking about the delimitation and demarcation issue, the guest noted that the EU supports the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

At the meeting the Armenian parliamentarians also spoke about the inner-political situation in our country, democracy, the rule of law and human rights.
