Optek Low-Profile Optical Switch from TTI
Fort Worth, Texas - May 7, 2021 - TTI, Inc., a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, is now stocking the OPB855 family of Transmissive Optical Sensors from TT Electronics - Optek. This low-profile sensor is targeted for the medical and industrial applications, manufacturing automation, safety and security equipment.
The TT Electronics - Optek OPB855 Slotted Optical Switch consists of an infrared emitting diode and a NPN silicon phototransistor, mounted on opposite sides of a 0.205' (5.21 mm) wide slot in an inexpensive plastic housing. Switching of the phototransistor occurs whenever an opaque object passes through the slot. This switch is uniquely suited for non-contact interruptive object sensing to detect movement or presence in critical applications.
