Event celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
The Latin Arts Festival returns to CSU on Tuesday, September 26, at the Ronald Berkman Hall Auditorium (1899 East 22nd Street).
Presented by the CSU Cultural Crossings, it will feature musical performances including:
Latin Fusion Band "Son Gitano"
Francisco Bedoy (Piano), accompaniment by Madeline Levitz
Strong Duo Alonso-Rebuffi, Rodrigo Lara Alonso (Guitarist) and Marcelo Rebuffi (Violinist)
"This is one of the CSU Hispanic Awareness Month events, and this event is a great way to reach out to the Latino community," said Professor of Spanish and Linguistics Antonio Medina-Rivera. "We had our First Latino Festival in 2019, and it was very well attended; [additionally], two of our sponsors (Margaret Wong, Esq. and La Plaza Supermarket) can be potential donors for CSU."
Medina-Rivera also added that one of the performers, "Son Gitano," is a popular band in the area that has a chance to attract many people from the region.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and refreshments will be served before the performances begin at 7 p.m.
