André Villas-Boas is a happy and proud president after winning the 20th Portuguese Cup

The first title of André Villas-Boas' presidency is here: the 20th Portuguese Cup in the history of FC Porto. After the classic against Sporting at Estádio do Jamor, which ended with a blue and white victory in extra time (2-1), André Villas-Boas talked of "a great victory for the entire FC Porto universe" and has no doubt that "the team deserved it". Praising his predecessor, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, the president of the Dragons wants this achievement to mark "the beginning of a new victorious era".

A fair and deserved victory
"It is a special victory because it belongs to FC Porto, these players, the coaching team, the medical team, etc. We were better overall and the players deserve this end of the season. I hope it will be the first of many achievements. We want to continue to win and we will build teams that make us proud and bring us more and more victories. It is a great victory for the entire FC Porto universe."

Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa
"It is a victory that makes us proud, as it is the last title for Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa. Let it be the beginning of a new victorious era, which is what we all want. I was born shortly before Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa's presidency began and the memories I have of a winning FC Porto were built by him. I hugged him to thank him, not to say farewell, as he will always be with us."

The strategy put together by the coach
"The instructions that the coach gave the team were essential, although football is always a set of factors. Still, overall, we were superior. I am very proud, as the team fought well and the victory is fully deserved."

The future
"Today is a moment of celebration and everything has its time. Now we have to celebrate with the fans. Congratulations to all the FC Porto fans, who deserve this joy."
