Maine's rural landscape presents unique challenges for accessing medical care. Many residents depend on non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) to get to critical appointments. RideSource, based in Norway, Maine, partners with us to help make these trips happen smoothly, safely, and with empathy.
Supporting Members Across Maine
Founded in 2015, RideSource started as a small operation with a couple of minivans and one part-time driver. Today, they employ 80 drivers and cover 45% of the state. Their team helps members reach medical appointments ranging from routine check-ups to life-saving treatments like dialysis and cancer care.
RideSource also transports children with special needs to schools and treatment programs and provides school bus services to districts facing staff shortages. These efforts make a real difference for families and individuals across Maine.
A Partnership That Drives Innovation
Our partnership with RideSource blends cutting-edge technology with personalized care. Using our digital platform, RideSource schedules and optimizes routes, helping members get to appointments on time. This collaboration helps them meet Maine's growing needs while maintaining the safety and support members rely on.
Delivering More Than Transportation
RideSource drivers undergo extensive training to help make every trip safe and compassionate. From passenger safety to sensitivity training, they're prepared to handle any situation with care. Many drivers share that their favorite part of the job is connecting with the community. Regular riders become like family, sharing stories and forming bonds that make each trip meaningful.
Together with RideSource, we're committed to improving access to healthcare. Every trip represents our shared mission to support members' health, independence, and well-being.
