City of Napa Highlights Key Milestones and Accomplishments in 2023 State of the City Report

The City of Napa is excited to announce the release of its 2023 State of the City report. The report provides a comprehensive snapshot of Napa's progress over the past year, encapsulating Napa's commitment to inclusivity and the advancement of key initiatives.

"2023 was a year of great progress for the City of Napa. We've lived up to our new mission & values statements - cementing and advancing our council priorities while continuing to maintain our core services at a high level," said City Manager Steve Potter. "It's a privilege to work alongside an incredible team that is dedicated to making Napa a great place to live and work."

From the Parks and Recreation Department's adoption of three new department policies aimed at fostering financial sustainability, social equity and strategic capital investment to the City's strides in diversity and inclusion training, the State of the City highlights the City's dedication to shaping a vibrant and inclusive future for the Napa community.

In addition, the City developed a new Mission Statement and Core Values designed to shape the City's culture, provide guidance for employees and serve as a transparent reflection of the City of Napa's dedication to the community. The State of the City report also highlights the return of cherished events like Napa Día de los Muertos, the Napa Lighted Art Festival and other familiar gatherings.

The City of Napa remains committed to taking action in the areas of its council priorities - Traffic Safety, Public Infrastructure, Climate Action, Housing and Homelessness and the Implementation of the General Plan. The report outlines key projects that occurred this past year such as the installation of a buffered bike lane, the opening of the North Napa Center - a 56-unit non-congregate temporary homeless shelter and various public infrastructure assessments that will serve as a guide to improve our community's public spaces for years to come.

"As we celebrate the conclusion of another remarkable year in the City of Napa, I am filled with gratitude for the collective spirit and tireless efforts that have defined our community," said Mayor Scott Sedgely. "I am proud to live and work in a community that is dedicated to integrity, service, inclusion and collaboration."
