The city of Vigo will host the next edition of "Galicia Biodays" on June 12 and 13

On June 12 and 13, Vigo will become the capital of biotechnology during the celebration of a new edition of "Galicia Biodays", the reference forum for the biotech and life sciences industry in the European Atlantic Area.

On June 12 and 13, the Mar de Vigo Auditorium and Conference Center will host "Galicia Biodays 2024", the reference forum for the biotechnology and life sciences industry in the European Atlantic Area. "It will be the perfect scenario for the biotechnology sector to establish new contacts and synergies, generate business, develop new projects and get in touch with investors and clients," says José Manuel López Vilariño, president of the Cluster Tecnolóxico Empresarial das Ciencias da Vida (Bioga), organizer of Galicia Biodays 2024.

The biotechnology sector meeting will address strategic issues such as the development of new drugs, innovation in food and cosmetics, entrepreneurship and financing of strategic projects and internationalization. International delegations from leading biotechnology countries such as the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom and Belgium will attend. Among the confirmed sponsors, so far, there are already leading companies such as Zendal, Inventium, Promega Biotech Ibérica, Servitalent, Mestrelab Research, Lonza, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, AMSlab, CaixaBank-DayOne, Paralab Bio, Universidade de Vigo y FI-Group.

Vigo will be in June 2024 the capital of biotechnology, will host the second edition of Galicia Biodays, a space that, according to Bioga, will allow "to know the current trends in the biotechnology sector". It will feature an extensive program of conferences, workshops and networking activities. But why Vigo? The president of Bioga explains: "Vigo is a city with a strong entrepreneurial and industrial character, with an area of influence where some of the biotech companies with the highest turnover in Spain are based and where hybridization with other strategic sectors happens naturally".

Who is Galicia Biodays aimed at?

To any agent interested and integrated in the biotechnology and life sciences sector. It is an appointment for businessmen, managers, entrepreneurs and investors who want to learn about new business models and experiences to develop and implement in their companies. It will also be of interest to R&D&I directors from the main companies in the sector, technology centers and international institutions.
