Problem gambling is not just an individual problem, but a major social issue with profound impacts on families and the broader community.<_o3a_p>

Our Council will continue to play a part in reducing the harm caused by highly addictive poker machines and electronic gaming machines, as well as online gambling.<_o3a_p>

Council has endorsed the Gambling Harm Minimisation Policy to limit the negative and harmful impact of online gambling or electronic gaming in the community. <_o3a_p>

While gambling regulation and reform is the responsibility of State and Federal Governments, Council continues to play a role in education, advocacy and lobbying.<_o3a_p>

We support an evidence-based, public health approach to prevent the harm caused by highly addictive electronic gaming machines and online gambling.<_o3a_p>

Information is available on our website including a list of local services and places people can go for support. <_o3a_p>
