COVID-19 vaccine update for the week of May 17

Walk-in COVID-19 vaccine appointments at Gundersen are a popular, convenient option for patients and non-patients.

Walk-in vaccine appointments are available at the Gundersen Onalaska Clinic 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are available until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Walk-in appointments are also available at select Gundersen regional locations. Check the list of Gundersen locations offering COVID-19 vaccine and call for availability.

Gundersen provided about 100 vaccine doses to staff at large employers last week, with more business vaccinations scheduled in the coming days. Gundersen is also continuing partnerships with local school districts and county public health officials to vaccinate eligible high school students.

Gundersen will offer Johnson & Johnson vaccine to people age 18 and older on May 21 and May 25. Check MyChart or call a Gundersen vaccine location for availability.

Adult Gundersen patients can walk-in, schedule their appointment through MyChart, or call the scheduling line at (608) 775-6829. Adult non-patients can walk-in or call the scheduling line at (608) 775-6829, option 2, for a vaccine appointment.

Patients under age 18 need parent or guardian consent in person or by calling the Gundersen scheduling line at (608) 775-6829.

COVID-19 vaccine is the surest way for us to return to normal. This now includes removing masks in many situations for those who are fully vaccinated. There are many benefits of getting the vaccine, which was developed after decades of research by the world's best medical professionals. The benefits far outweigh the health risks of getting COVID-19 and the very low risk of severe complications from the vaccine. Getting the vaccine protects you, your family, neighbors and anyone else around you from COVID-19 and the disease variants in our area.
