The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning Phase 4 network infrastructure upgrades on March 28, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.

The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. "This project will upgrade the security Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system along the Metro North Railroad (MNR) New Haven Line, and the New Canaan and Danbury Branch Lines. This includes establishing the network infrastructure to support a new CCTV system at the passenger stations and Cos Cob Rail Bridge," said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Seamus Flannery. "It will also enhance the security capabilities on the platforms of the New Haven Main Line, Danbury and New Canaan Branch Lines, as well as the addition of new cameras and upgrades to the network. We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design."

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2025 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $19.3 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
