Over 1,000 Cannabis Plants Smoked Out In Keighley

Cannabis potentially worth more than £1-million has been seized from the streets of Keighley.

The Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team is continuing enquiries after uncovering a large-scale cannabis factory at a disused commercial building on Alice Street on Tuesday March 26.

Officers have recovered more than 1,000 plants from the location following a significant operation at the premises lasting several days.

Work was also carried out at the location to make it safe.

Six arrests were made as part of the operation with three males aged between 35 and 43 later charged with producing controlled drugs offences.

Inspector John Barker of the Keighley NPT, said: "We have been working hard with partner agencies and the community under Keighley Together to tackle drugs related crime in Keighley. This operation has very much been part of that ongoing work, and demonstrates our commitment to getting drugs off our streets.

"We know that drugs such as those recovered cause long term misery for people and fuel crime and anti-social behaviour in the area and warrants such as the one we executed in this operation aim to tackle that.

"This warrant was made possible by the community information and intelligence that we have received. I would encourage anyone who has suspicions about drugs and drug dealing to report them.
