According to the publication calendar, the CBK published statistics for other financial institutions for December 2023, as well as statistics on remittances for November and preliminary statistics for December 2023 (https://bqk-kos.org/statistikat/serite-kohore/).

Other financial intermediaries

The assets of other financial intermediaries at the end of December 2023 have increased by 14.2 million euros compared to the previous month, reaching the value of 513.5 million euros.

The structure of assets of the microfinance sector is dominated by loans, which constitute 70.4% of total assets. Gross loans of other financial intermediaries in December 2023 reached the value of 361.6 million euros, representing an increase of 7.1 million euros compared to the previous period. By sectors, loans to households dominate with 61% of the total loans of the microfinance sector.

The value of new loans issued by other financial intermediaries in December was 41.4 million.

Insurance companies

The assets of insurance companies at the end of December 2023 reached the value of 304.1 million euros, representing an increase of 3.5 million euros compared to the previous month.

The structure of assets in the insurance sector consists of the balance with commercial banks, which constitute securities at 45.8% and other assets at 29.4%, and participating reinsurance 14.2%.

Pension funds

The assets of pension funds at the end of December 2023 have increased by 62.9 million euros compared to the previous month, reaching the value of about 2.71 billion euros.

The structure of assets of the pension sector is dominated by equity securities, which make up 74.5% of total assets.

Remittances

According to preliminary estimates, remittances for December were around 129.1 million euros. The largest inflows during this month were 49.9% through NBFIs, 36.7% through other channels, and 13.3% through commercial banks.

By the end of December 2023, remittances reached the value of about 1,344.5 million euros, representing an annual increase of 10%.
