Community Invited to Art in the Park March 18

The City of Garden Grove, in collaboration with the Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD), will transform Village Green Park into an outdoor, interactive art festival for the 5th Annual Art in the Park. The community is invited to attend the free event on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Village Green Park, located at 12732 Main Street.

Event activities will include the Art Car, an opportunity to paint on a classic car transformed into a blank art canvas; Recess Revolution, an unstructured free-play area; LEGO® Creation Station; ceramics demos and ukelele lessons led by Garden Grove Unified School District teachers and students from Rancho Alamitos High School and La Quinta High School; and Paint and Sip, an outdoor painting experience with non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages provided.

The Paint and Sip activity is $15 per individual and will be offered twice during the event. Times are 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Registration is limited to 50 participants per session. To sign up, go to ggcity.org/artinthepark or call (714) 741-5200.

Art in the Park will also feature live performances from GGUSD students, as well as temporary art installations, including a "RE:IMAGINE" banner and oversized easels, displaying GGUSD student artwork.

C&M Ohana will be onsite selling kettle corn and sweet treats.

GGUSD's annual First Impressions Student Art Exhibit, showcasing the artistic talents of GGUSD students, grades pre-K through 12th, will once again be located at the Garden Grove Courtyard Center, in Village Green Park, at 12732 Main Street. Opening day is Saturday, March 18, at 9:00 a.m. The exhibit will remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 20 through Thursday, March 23.

In keeping with the Re:Imagine Garden Grove efforts, the annual Art in the Park furthers the City's goal to beautify Garden Grove's open spaces through community art and culture.
