PRESS RELEASE BY THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER Farewell call by the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia on the Deputy Speaker

The outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia, Yassine El Oued, paid a farewell visit on the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative, David Agius MP.​​​

The Deputy Speaker expressed his heartfelt thanks for the efforts of the Ambassador to enhance the bilateral relations between Malta and Tunisia during his term as Tunisia's Ambassador to Malta. He also recalled that Malta and Tunisia enjoy a historical affinity in view of the geographical proximity and the exchanges between the peoples of respective countries. These factors are crucial to consolidate the already excellent bilateral relations that exist between both countries.

Deputy Speaker Agius amplified Malta's long-term commitment to helping Tunisia overcome its economic vulnerabilities based on equal partnership, and reiterated Malta's commitment to continue to strengthen the commercial relations between both countries which includes both countries' relations as Mediterranean partners and neighbours.

The Deputy Speaker augured the very best to the Ambassador in his future endeavours.
