Staff changes in Nornickel

Moscow, 27 April 2024 - Nornickel continues to improve its production efficiency. To strengthen its management team with a focus on addressing modern challenges, the Company appointed Alexander Popov as Senior Vice President - Chief Operating Officer, Head of Trans-Baikal Division. By resolution of the Board of Directors, he will also join the Management Board effective as of 27 April 2024.

In his new role, Alexander Popov will be in

charge
of mining and exploration, also developing and implementing the respective development strategy and following up on our CAPEX programme. His responsibilities also include compliance with environmental and safety legislation.

Alexander Popov has been with the Company since 2018 when he headed our new production site, Bystrinsky GOK. He has successfully accomplished his set of tasks, with the largest greenfield project in Russia's modern mining industry coming on stream and reaching its design capacity as scheduled. Under his command, Bystra as it is now named has demonstrated financial and operating sustainability up to a high environmental and safety standard.

Alexander Popov graduated from the Kuzbass State Technical University with a degree in Construction Economics and Management. In 2006-2007, he was Director for Capital Construction at Kuzbassugol, and, in 2007-2009, Director for Procurement at Vorkutaugol. In 2009-2011, he served as Director of Vorkutaugol's Vorkuta Transport Enterprise. In 2011-2016, he was CEO of Olcon (Olenegorsk Mining and Processing Plant, part of Severstal's Mining Division). From 2016 to August 2018, he served as CEO of Krasny Kotelshchik, part of Power Machines. In 2018, he headed Bystrinsky GOK. In 2020, Alexander Popov was appointed Nornickel's Vice President and Head of Trans-Baikal Division.
