Date Announced for the Inquest into the Death of Attila Csanyi

Dr. Karen Schiff, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office, announced the date for the inquest into the death of Attila Csanyi

On May 2, 2020, police and paramedics responded to a call about a man found without vital signs on the roof of Jackson Square Mall in Hamilton. He was pronounced deceased after unsuccessful resuscitation efforts. On June 5, 2020, he was identified as Attila Csanyi.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Csanyi's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last 14 days and hear from approximately 15 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Jennifer Scott will be the presiding officer and Jai Dhar will be inquest counsel.
