Los Angeles:On April 27, 2024, around 12:10 a.m., Southeast Division uniformed officers responded to the 200 Block of West 105th Street for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon radio call. The suspect of the radio call, later identified as 34-year-old Dominique Langlois, was possibly armed with a knife, had assaulted a fellow resident, and was refusing to leave the location. Officers responded to the location and contacted Langlois, who immediately became combative and retreated to his bedroom. Officers broadcast a backup request and awaited additional resources as officers continued to issue verbal commands to Langlois, who then complied and was handcuffed. After being handcuffed, Langlois again became combative and spat at officers, which resulted in a Categorical Use of Force.

Langlois was taken into custody and transported by paramedics without injury to a local hospital. The hospital staff subsequently cleared Langlois for booking, and he was transported to 77th Street Regional Jail, where he was booked for 243(B) PC- Battery on a Police Officer.

One officer was treated for an abrasion to his right middle finger sustained during the use of force. No other officers or community members were injured during this incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.
