Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Kakha Kakabadze meets the President of the World Wine Tourism Organization, Jose Antonio Vidal

During the meeting, the parties discussed the importance of wine tourism development in Georgia.

"Georgia is a wine-producing country with 8,000 years of history. We pay special care to this history; we work to improve wine quality and increase exports. Tourism in the country is developing rapidly; Tourism and a thriving wine industry boost our economy. Sharing best practices in any field, including wine tourism, is a necessary and important condition for development," Mr. Kakha Kakabadze noted.

The parties focused on the quality of the wine. The Georgian side spoke extensively on the efforts to improve the quality of wine in the country. The conversation also touched on the export potential and diversification of markets.

"The main goal of the World Wine Tourism Association is to develop wine tourism in the countries where we start cooperation. The most important task is to increase the awareness of the country. We support both the public and private sectors and the academic sector. "Congresses, meetings, sharing of tourist experience - all these directions are covered by our association," noted Mr. Jise Antonio Vidal.

Mr. Miguel Gamba, the representative of Alkali University; Mrs. Keti Gorgiladze, the founder of the Spanish-Georgian Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Zurab Vacharadze, the deputy chairman of the National Wine Agency, and Mr. Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, the director of the Caucasus International University, attended the meeting.

The guests visited Georgian wine companies and wineries in Kakheti as part of their visit to Georgia.
