No Appointments Available: America’s Escalating Primary Care Shortage

In a new op-ed published in Healthcare Dive, NACHC President and CEO, Dr. Kyu Rhee, teams up with American Academy of Family Physicians' CEO Shawn Martin and Milbank Memorial Fund's President Chris Koller to make the case that stronger investment in primary care is essential to building a more accessible, effective, affordable, and equitable health system.

They write that strengthening the primary care system should be a priority: "Access to high-quality primary care for everyone should not be an aspiration, but an expectation that we - as a nation - have an urgent duty to fulfill." The op-ed goes on to outline the clear solutions for policymakers, including the expansion of Community Health Centers.
