NV Energy to Begin Gas Line Replacement Project in Sparks

Sparks, NV - Beginning Monday, April 29, NV Energy, in collaboration with the City of Sparks, will begin an infrastructure improvement project to enhance the safety and reliability of gas service in downtown Sparks. The project will be completed in two phases.

Phase 1 of the project will include work at the alley intersections of 10^th Street and Victorian Plaza Circle, south of Avenue of the Oaks. Road closures will be in place on 10^th Street and Victorian Plaza Circle. This project is expected to take approximately one week to complete.

Then, beginning, Monday, May 6, the second phase of the project will begin. NV Energy will start replacement of the main gas line on Avenue of the Oaks. Avenue of the Oaks will be temporarily closed to traffic and detour routes will be in place. The project is expected to take about six to eight weeks to complete. Construction will be coordinated around events held in the Nugget Event Center.

Work hours for both phases will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the roadways reopening nightly. Additionally, NV Energy may consider working some Saturdays to accelerate completion. NV Energy and the City of Sparks appreciate the community's patience during this project.
