Total net electricity generation and export higher, import lower than a year ago
In February 2024, total net electricity generation was 1.258 GWh. Compared to January, it decreased by 7%, and compared to February 2023 it increased by 20%. Generation in hydro power plants was 43% higher, in thermal power plants it was 23% higher, and in the nuclear power plant it was 4% higher.
In line with the higher production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption also increased. Total fuel consumption was 13% higher than a year ago.
835 GWh of electricity was imported and 987 GWh was exported. Compared to the same month last year, import decreased by 2% and export increased by 35%.
Less electricity consumed than in the previous month
In February, households consumed 297 GWh and business entities 582 GWh of electricity. With 296 GWh consumed, manufacturing dominated. Compared to the previous month, electricity consumption in households went down by 21% and in business entities by 9%.
Energy supply down at the monthly and up at the annual level
Compared to January, the supply of energy commodities in general went down with exception of Other Petroleum Products supply rise with 43%, Kerosene Jet Fuel supply rise with 16% and Hard Coal supply rise with 3%. It decreased by 33% with Heating and Other Gasoil, 23% with LPG, 23% with Natural Gas, 22% with Motor Gasoline, and 4% with Lignite and Brown Coal.
Compared to February 2023, the supply of energy commodities increased as 87% with Other Petroleum Products, 39% with Hard Coal, 30% with Kerosene Jet Fuel, 24% with Lignite and Brown Coal and 5% Transport Diesel Oil.
