Ms. Kanwal Cheema made these remarks addressing a gathering of leading Pak-American tech entrepreneurs, IT professionals and business leaders at Pakistan House, hosted by Ambassador Masood Khan, Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States. Welcoming Ms. Kanwal Cheema to Washington DC, Ambassador Masood Khan lauded her work to synergize efforts for poverty alleviation and social integration. "With her intercontinental connections, she can be a good bridge between continents," he said. "Ms. Kanwal is a social entrepreneur," he added. "We have introduced this technology platform to create a better understanding about her work and sequel should be better networking," Ambassador said. In his tweet, Masood Khan said that "Ms. Kanwal Cheema, Founder & CEO of My Impact Meter (MIM) introduced her unique platform for poverty alleviation, vocational training and social integration in Pakistan to a group of Pakistani tech entrepreneurs and business leaders. Great vehicle to harness technology to promote human security in Pakistan through collaboration with Pakistani diaspora and philanthropists. Grateful to all prominent Pakistani-Americans who attended the event." Introducing My Impact Meter (MIM) platform to the audience, Ms. Kanwal said that MIM had four pillars. "It is a mall of NGOs. We have got about 70 NGOs from Pakistan already and we get more every day," she said. She said that platform was ensuring complete transparency into the working of every NGO involved into the work of philanthropy and humanitarian work. "We have introduced digital vouchers for grocery and education," she said. She said that the platform was also facilitating beneficiaries with vocational training enabling them to earn livelihoods and break shackles of poverty. The platform, Ms. Kanwal, said was also providing laptops and six months' grocery to the under-training beneficiaries facilitating them to devote their full attention to the skills that they were acquiring to earn their living in future. During interactive session, Kanwal answered the queries with regards to the disbursements of funds, the privacy of the beneficiaries, and the success of the platform in helping people graduate out of poverty. Ms. Kanwal thanked the Ambassador for hosting her and helping her connect with leading Pak-US IT professionals and tech entrepreneurs.
