Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Hungary

On March 27-28, 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Hungary.

Mr. Bakhtiyor Saidov held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, the Minister of Economic Development Marton Nagy, the Chairman of the Board of "OTP" bank Sandor Csanyi, the CEO of Gedeon Richter Gabor Orban, and with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral ties and interaction within the framework of multilateral organizations, primarily in the trade, economic, and investment spheres. They also considered the implementation of the agreements reached during high-level contacts. The sides exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming joint events.

The acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan took part in the opening of the business forum with the participation of about 100 entrepreneurs representing more than 60 leading companies of the two countries.

The delegation of Uzbekistan also visited the free economic zone of Budapest and got acquainted with the business environment.

During the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Hungary, the opening ceremony of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest took place. It was attended by the leadership of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, representatives of the Government, public and business circles of Hungary, as well as mass media. It was noted that the opening of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in the capital of Hungary will make it possible to qualitatively implement the tasks set by the leaders of the two states to expand mutually beneficial partnership, and will serve to enrich the agenda with new practical content.
