Disease protection and microchips available for hundreds of San Antonio dogs

SAN ANTONIO (June 1, 2023) - San Antonio Animal Care Services, the San Antonio Humane Society, and the Animal Defense League have joined forces to help local dog owners with an upcoming free vaccination clinic. The collaboration will kick off Saturday, June 10, from 8 a.m. to noon at Camargo Park, located at 5738 West Highway 90.

The dogs-only clinic will offer free vaccines against dangerous diseases such as Rabies, Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvo, and Parainfluenza. It will also offer free microchip IDs, a permanent form of pet identification that is legally required for all San Antonio pets.

While no appointments are needed, services will be available for City of San Antonio residents only. Pet owners should bring a picture ID with their current address and ensure their pets are in an appropriate carrier or on a leash with a properly fitting collar. The clinic has a strict limit of three pets per City of San Antonio household. Free vaccinations and microchips are available while supplies last. Information on affordable spay-neuter and wellness services, as well as the City's animal laws, will also be available.
