Researchers from UL FFA were awarded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship) for project PROTAG-8

Researcher dr. Nives Hribernik was awarded prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship together with prof. Marko Anderluh for research in the field of targeted protein degradation. The aim of PROTAG-8 project is to implement the methodology of PROTACs development to target degradation of galectin-8. This protein is a key player in pathological growth of blood and lymph vessels, which enables tumor growth and spreading of cancer cells, leading to tumor metastasis. Similar process of pathological vessel growth however occurs also in other diseases, such as diabetes type 2, hypertension and obesity.
