The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-September 2022, 173,9 million passengers were transported by public transport, an increase of 19,8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. This evolution was mainly determined by the increase in the number of passengers transported by air (+40,1%), by road transport (+21,6%) and by trolleybuses (+19,1%). At the same time, there was a decrease in the number of passengers transported by river transport (-23,5%) and rail (-11,5%).

Passenger travel in the reporting period was up 30,0% compared to January-September 2021 and amounted to 3745,7 million passenger-km, of which 1935,6 million passenger-km (51,7% of the total) were registered in bus and minibus transport, 1428,9 million passenger-km (38,1%) - in air transport and 359,2 million passenger-km (9,6%) - in trolleybus transport.
