Secretary Thomas Issues Update on Bridgeport Election

(Hartford, CT) - Today, Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas issued an update regarding the Bridgeport election.

The Bridgeport Town Clerk's Office was asked to make copies of the inner and outer envelopes of the absentee ballots received for the Mayoral Primary held on January 23rd, and those efforts have been completed.

In the process of making these copies, it was discovered that 14 absentee ballots had not been opened on Election Day and were mistakenly mixed in with the inner and outer envelopes of the absentee ballots that were counted, due to human error.

The outcome of the election remains unchanged.
