Somani Named COO at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute

Tushar Somani has been named chief operating officer of Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute (BGMC/GVI).

In his new role, Somani will be responsible for the daily operations of BGMC/GVI. Through collaboration with physician and administrative leaders, Somani will advance growth initiatives, operational improvements, efficient and effective resource utilization and allocation, and further our mission to advance the health of our community. He will enable a seamless journey of care for our patients throughout our health system focused on quality and safety, patient experience, access, efficiency and collaboration.

Prior to joining Kaleida Health, Somani was chief operating officer at Beth Israel Lahey Health at Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA. He previously served as regional vice president, administrative services at Trinity Health at St. Peter's Health Partners in Albany, NY, and vice president of operations with Aramark Corporation at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia, PA.

Somani earned a Bachelor of Arts in hospitality at the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom, Bachelor of Science in hospitality from Widener University in Chester, PA, and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
