University Orchestra Concert at Staller Center, April 30

The University Orchestra, conducted by Susan Deaver, will present a concert on Tuesday, April 30, on Staller Center's Main Stage at 7:30 pm. The orchestra will perform Lili Boulanger's "D'un matin de printemps" and Shostakovich Symphony No. 5.

Sophie Bowden

The featured soloist is violinist and Long Island native Sophie Bowden who is the first-place winner of the 2024 Undergraduate Concerto Competition. She will perform the first movement of Erick Wolfgang Krongold's Violin Concerto in D Major, which was composed in 1945 and dedicated to Alma Mahler, the widow of Gustav Mahler.

Tickets are $15 general, $10 seniors and $5 students, and can be purchased online or at the Staller Box Office, (631) 632-2787.
