I-76 Turnpike Bridge Demo over Thomas Road to Begin May 6th

Trumbull is scheduled to demo the I-76 Turnpike Bridge over Thomas Road starting the morning of May 6th, 2024. This work will consist of demolishing the old overhead superstructure and adjacent substructures. Thomas Road between Richards Road and Park Ridge Road will be closed during working hours and will be opened back up at the end of each day. The working hours will be from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. each day starting on May 6th and will continue through demo completion, which is expected to be May 10th, 2024. A detour route will be implemented during this work (see below). The contractor also met with emergency services and TESD transportation to discuss this detour.

Once this work is complete, Thomas Road will reopen in it's prior configuration or a single lane configuration with traffic lights on both sides of the bridge.
