TRAFFIC ALERT - Sussex County - New Lane Closure Hours at SR 1 and SR 16
New Lane Closure Hours at SR 1 and SR 16
Milton- The Delaware Department of Transportation announces there will be new lane closure hours at SR 1 and SR 16 starting on Wednesday, May 1. SR 1 motorist can expect nighttime lane closures Monday through Thursday 7:00pm to 7:00am. In addition, nighttime lane closures on SR 1 are permitted Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00pm to 8:00am. SR 16 motorist can expect daytime lane closures Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm. In addition, nighttime lane closures on SR 16 are permitted Monday through Friday 6:00pm to 7:00am and Saturday and Sunday 9:00pm to 9:00am.
These lane closure hours will continue through September 31. Motorist can expect to be driving in the current traffic pattern until fall 2024. The Contractor continues to work on SR 1 southbound pavement, embankment, bridge, and Ramp C and D. The project is anticipated to be complete in late fall 2025.
