NOPD Investigating Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred near the intersection of AP Tureaud Avenue and North Roman Street that left two men dead and two men injured.

At about 12:54 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive adult male with apparent gunshot wounds. EMS pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

Three additional victims, all male, were also found with gunshot wounds and were taken to an area hospital. One of the three additional victims later died from his injuries.

Through investigation, it was determined a white truck drove up and opened fire on the four victims.

The suspected white truck was discovered abandoned in the 2200 block of Port Street and processed for evidence.

Investigators are gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident and to determine a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will identify the victims and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.

The Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans reward for information that leads to an arrest is now up to $5,000.
