Rep. Adams Addresses Tragedy in Charlotte in Vigil & House Floor Speeches

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following the tragic events in Charlotte on Monday, April 29, 2024, Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. (D-NC-12) delivered remarks on two occasions this week, at an interfaith vigil in Charlotte, and on the floor of the U.S. House in Washington.

In her remarks, Rep. Adams commemorated the heroism of the four officers, the humanity in those who rushed to their aid and to secure and protect the city, thanked her fellow representative from Charlotte, Congressman Jeff Jackson (NC-14), for leading a moment of silence on the House floor on her behalf, and called for grieving residents to "turn anguish into action" to reduce gun violence.
