The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Giannis Kefalogiannisvisited today, Holy Tuesday 30 April 2024, the Army's Surveillance Outposts "PANAGIAS", "OINOUSSON", "PSARON" and "AGIAS ELENIS" accompanied by the Commander of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands Lt General Emmanouil Theodorouand the Commander of the 96 Higher National Guard Battalions Command Brigadier General Charalambos Abatzidis.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence exchanged wishes and conversed with the members and the enlisted soldiers for the Holy Days of Easter and he was also briefed on the Outposts' mission.

Following that, he conducted a meeting with His Eminence the Metropolitan Bishop of Chios, Psara and Oinousses Mr Markos at the Bishopric of the Chios Holy Metropolis.

He then conducted a meeting with the members of the National Guard Battalions of Chios and Vrontados, talked with them and exchanged wishes.

After the conclusion of the visits, the Deputy Minister made the following statement:

"I believe that it is the least I can do to be present here today, on Holy Tuesday, among the members and the enlisted soldiers providing their substantial services to the homeland, here at the border Outposts "PANAGIAS", "OINOUSSON", "PSARON" and "AGIAS ELENIS". It is my pleasure and honour and I want to congratulate them for their everyday struggle for the protection of national sovereignty and the rights of Greece.

From our border outposts, I wish to the women and the men of the Armed Forces and their families many Happy Returns and a Happy Easter".
