ICGEB Conferences up next

Three major international conferences are underway in May and June 2024. This week, in Abu Dhabi, UAE and coming up in Trieste, Italy.

The New York University Abu Dhabi/ICGEB Conference on Drug Discovery, Delivery and Therapeutics is being held from 6-8 May 2024. Convened by six professors of the University, among whom Prof. Piergiorgio Percipalle, ICGEB alumnus, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs, Program Head of Biology, and Professor of Biology, NYUAD, the conference is co-organised by five ICGEB Principal Investigators who will all be in attendance: Dr. Lawrence Banks, ICGEB Director-General and Group Leader of the Tumour Virology lab, Dr. Natasa Skoko, Biotechnology Development, and Dr. Luca Braga, Functional Cell Biology, from Trieste, Italy, and Dr. Pawan Molhotra, Malaria Biology, and Dr. Dhiraj Kuman, Cellular Immunology from New Delhi, India.

The Meeting Programme is available. The event represents a great opportunity to increase ICGEB's footprint in the country.

The 19th International Workshop on p53 is a biennial event of great international scientific renown and will be held for the first time in Italy, in Trieste, May 13-16, 2024. This workshop represents a beacon in the field of global oncology research, bringing together leading scientists engaged in the study of the tumor oncosopressor p53, a crucial gene in cancer. Cancer continues to be a leading cause of death globally, with an estimated 10 million deaths in 2020. Among them, an estimated 4.5 million may have developed cancer with mutations in the oncosuppressor TP53. With the participation of international experts from across disciplines, the latest discoveries in this field will be discussed. With the scientific organising committee including Prof. Giannino Del Sal, ICGEB Trieste, University of Trieste, and IFOM-ETS Milan, Italy, Dr. Lawrence Banks, ICGEB Trieste, Dr. Giovanni Blandingo, Regina Elena National Cancer Institute, Rome, and Prof. Gerry Melino, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy.

From 16-21 July 2024, the "ICGEB DNA Tumour Virus Meeting," constituting the 8th Arturo Falaschi Conference will be held in Trieste, Italy. Covering topics on Replication, Gene Expression, Transformation, Virions and Entry, Virus-Host Interactions, DNA Damage and Cell Growth, and Pathogenesis, the deadline for registration is 2 July 2024.
