We appreciate your patience as we continue to do construction work in the area of Tanglewood from Penbrook to 52nd St. We apologize for water shutdowns and traffic deviations.
This project includes the replacement of aged water lines before the contractor reconstructs the paving in this area. The new water infrastructure is in the ground, but now we must disconnect the old piping.
Unfortunately, there are several steps to killing out old lines and tying in new ones. We first run a trial shutdown to see if the 'old' valves are going to hold so we can do the work. We then follow up with a shutdown to do the actual work on the lines. Often, there may be an issue with 'old' valves and lines that may cause additional shut downs.
We intend to be complete with the water line work by next week (3/31/23). Once the water line connections are completed, the project will move to roadway reconstruction.
