Milling and overlay work continues this week

The City of Killeen's Department of Public Works' Transportation division will be performing milling and overlay on several roads from today through Friday, May 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

The streets involved include:

• Trimmier Road, from Central Texas Expressway to Hallmark Avenue
• Gray Street, from Hallmark Avenue to E. Veterans Memorial Highway
• 2nd Street, from Hallmark Avenue to E. Veterans Memorial Highway
• Hallmark Avenue, from 2nd Street to 10th Street

Work includes completing asphalt overlay and milling services, which will result in various lane closures throughout the day. Entire road closures may also occur during this project.

There will be a series of traffic control devices in place to guide motor vehicles around the work zone and closure. Motorists are encouraged to use caution, obey traffic control devices and consider an alternate route during street maintenance.

It is very important that all vehicles obey the traffic control devices for the safety of the citizens and employees. All schedules are based on weather and may be changed.
