COVID-19 Update from Alabama Medicaid

The Alabama Medicaid Agency (Medicaid) made important changes during the COVID-19 public health emergency to better serve recipients and to assist providers in our state. The following links are provided to help Medicaid recipients stay informed about these changes.

• Know the symptoms. Symptoms of COVID-19 consists of either cough or shortness of breath (difficulty breathing) or at least two of the following: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, and new loss of taste or smell. If you experience these symptoms, CALL your provider first.
• If you are on Medicaid and need help finding a doctor, call 1-800-362-1504 or go to https://medicaid.alabama.gov/ and click on the Provider Directory tab.
