Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall announce an update on the investigation into the officer-involved shooting that occurred late this afternoon on Oldham Road in Hampstead, New Hampshire.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on March 18, 2024, Hampstead Police Officers responded to the area of 42 Oldham Road for the report of a male identified as Robert Boulter inside the residence with a firearm, having made threatening statements. When officers arrived, they heard a gunshot come from within the residence. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Boulter exited the front door of 42 Oldham Road armed with a rifle. Officers observed Mr. Boulter point the rifle at another officer. Two officers used deadly force and fired on Mr. Boulter. No law enforcement officers have been physically injured, and there is no threat to the public.

The investigation by the New Hampshire Department of Justice and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit into the officer-involved shooting of Mr. Boulter is ongoing, and the identity of the officers using deadly-force will not be disclosed until formal interviews take place. This is expected to occur sometime next week. Further information will be provided at that time.
