Highlights and Hoorays! April 10, 2024

ESD is sending three Collections Operators to compete in the New Mexico State Road-e-o, which is being held in conjunction with the City of El Paso's Road-e-o, on April 13 in El Paso, TX.

A truck road-e-o is competition on sanctioned obstacle courses that is scored for both time and accuracy. The City of Santa Fe is proud that two of our operators were National Winners in the front-load and side-load categories last year! The contestants who place highest among the New Mexico competitors will go on to compete in the SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) National Road-e-o in Georgia this October.

Albert Valdez: Front-load truck (collects dumpsters)- previous state and national winner!

Patricio Lopez: Automated Side-load truck (collects carts)- previous state and national winner!

Nicole Encinas: Automated Side-load truck (collects carts)-First time competitor!
