Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with star economist Jeffrey Sachs

On Friday in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Political Director Balázs Orbán received economics professor Jeffrey Sachs, a lecturer of the most renowned US universities, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The war in Ukraine was at the centre of the discussion; the parties agreed on the importance of an immediate ceasefire and peace talks as well as on the fact that Western countries should be much more cautious regarding the military support they provide for Ukraine.

According to Mr Orbán and Professor Sachs, the escalation of the war must be avoided before some irreversible tragedy occurs.
