Surrey Libraires Super Access extended to two new locations

Surrey residents in Camberley and Egham will soon be able to use the library at a time that suits them

Surrey Libraries is thrilled to announce the expansion of its Super Access programme to Camberley and Egham libraries, following a successful launch at Horley library in January.

Both libraries have been fitted with new technology that allows registered library members, who have had a short introduction to the new system, to access the library during the new, extended opening hours which are in addition to the existing staff hours.

Super Access aims to enhance accessibility and inclusivity for all library users, ensuring that members can enjoy the wealth of resources and services offered by Surrey Libraries at times that fit in with their busy lives.

There has been positive feedback and enthusiastic responses from library members who are already using the service in Horley library.

"I usually work in London but sometimes I work from home and Super Access means I can use the library from early until late and on Mondays which is great."

"The introduction was easy to book, effective and answered all my questions. I'm interested in technology so signed up for curiosity but found I really liked the quietness of the library outside of staffed hours."

"Super Access makes the library fully accessible, great for the whole community."

Surrey County Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Customer and Communities, Councillor Denise Turner-Stewart said: "We are delighted to bring the Super Access technology to Camberley and Egham libraries following a successful opening in Horley. These openings further our mission to make Surrey's libraries vibrant hubs, where our services are accessible to all members of the community. Our residents benefit significantly from this expansion of library opening times and opportunities to use library services when staff are not present.

"We continue to invest in our libraries, to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued and can access the wide range of events and activities available. There is so much going on at Surrey libraries, if you haven't visited in a while then please do, everyone is welcome."

Residents of Camberley and Egham are encouraged to visit their local libraries to sign up to Super Access. Any full Surrey Libraries member can upgrade to Super Access membership which will allow them to enter the library using their library membership card outside of normal opening hours and use library services independently when staff are not present. An introduction is required to be able to use the service.
