The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of a homicide investigation.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at approximately 12:10 a.m., police responded to a call for an assault in the Danforth Avenue and Jones Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- an argument occurred between the victim and the suspect which turned physical
- the victim was attacked by the suspect
- the victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries
- the suspect was arrested on scene
On Sunday, February 18, 2024, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The victim has been identified as Martin Gerrard, 60, of Toronto. An image has been released.
Deanna Charrion, 35, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
She is scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 102.
