ICYMI: Eli Lilly to seek employment growth outside of Indiana after abortion ban

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today criticized Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Republican Party for the long-term economic panic its abortion ban is having on the Hoosier State. This time, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff confirmed the company was "debating pulling resources" from states like Indiana for failing to "support equality and dignity" for his employees. The news follows Indiana's other top employers - Eli Lilly and Cummins - announcing their future business will be made outside of Indiana due to the Indiana Republican Party and its extremist agenda.

Since Holcomb signed SB1 at the dead of night, Indiana's major employers, community leaders, and tourism organizations all confirmed what Hoosiers knew: the state's D- rated workforce and F-rated quality of life rankings will get worse, because the Indiana GOP put their special interests before Indiana's future.

Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Republican Party passed the worst form of government overreach in recent memory. But, the upcoming 2022 midterm elections is the opportunity to stop the GOP's extremism (and supermajority) for good. A vote for Democrats is a vote to repeal Indiana's abortion ban, and INDems will carry this message through Election Day.

On Friday, the chairman and a co-chief executive officer of Salesforce, Marc Benioff told CNN the company is debating pulling resources from states that don't support equality and dignity, and that his role is to back his employees.

"We are dealing with a whole series of crazy presidents, crazy governors and crazy mayors all over the world in every country, every city and every state. The No. 1 thing I can do is let my employees know I'm here for them," Benioff said.
